How many pages can each photobook contain?

The books can contain up to 100 'sides' (or alternatively 50 physical pages printed back and front). Each book must have a minimum of 20 'sides.' (or alternatively, 10 physical pages printed front and back)

How many photos can each photobook contain?

This is one of those 'how long is a piece of string' questions. Depending on the design and layout a 20 page photobook (for example) could contain anywhere from 20 to 320 images. It all depends on what sort of book you'd like, who the audience is and how many photos you have in the first place.

OK, well tell me then how many photos I should send you to make my photobook?

That's a great question. The more the better! The more photos you send us, the better your photobook will be. It's much easier for us to tell a good 'story' with your images if we have more, rather then less, to work with. Of course, don't send us images that you definitely don't want included.

Many of our clients also tell us that they like the fact that they don't have to sort through the photos first before sending them to us. Think of us as your own personal photo editor.

And don't worry - when you get the digital proof, you can make all the changes you want. Have we left out an important photo, or included one you don't want? No problem, just let us know and we'll make whatever changes you'd like.

The MonkeyRed Process

How long does the whole process take? Once you've sent us your images, we'll aim to have a digital proof for you within 7-10 days. If it's going to take us longer, we'll let you know as soon as you send us your images. Changes to the proof usually take another week or so, to get to the point that you're happy with how everything's looking. Once payment has been received and the book has been ordered, printing and delivery will take around 7 business days for North America and 12-17 days for other countries. If you're in a rush, please get in touch and we'll see what we can do.

What do I do to get started?

Working with MonkeyRed Designs is simple. All you have to do is send us your images, and tell us what sort of book you think you'd like (eg hardcover, softcover, large, small). We'll handle the rest. Once we have your images, we'll design a digitial proof of your book for your comments. At this point, we can make any changes or alterations you'd like to ensure that the book is exactly the one that you want. Once you're happy with how everything looks, we'll send your book off to print and you should expect to receive it within 7-10 days (a little longer for Australia, New Zealand and Europe)

Many of my images are printed and not digital, can I still include them in my photobook?

Absolutely! They'll need to be scanned first of course, but for an additional cost, we can handle that as well. If you'd rather do this yourself, most photo processing stores (including large stores like Wal-Mart and London Drugs) offer scanning services.

I want to include ticket stubs/wine bottle labels/newspaper articles etc in the book as well - can you do this?

We sure can, once again, they'll need to be scanned first.

Can you also include text?

Yes we can. Please note though, that when you're proofing the book, you must make sure that all spelling is correct. We cannot give a refund or accept a returned photobook for spelling mistakes.

Can I include photos taken by someone else?

Yes, as long as you have that person's permission. MonkeyRed Designs assumes that all the images that you supply to us are free from any copyright restrictions. In other words, we take no responsibility for legal action that may occur if you've sent us images that were taken by someone else without their permission.

What resolution does everything need to be in?

The higher the better - because the better the resolution, the more we can do with the images in your book. As an example, if you send us images taken with a camera on a 2 megapixel setting, the largest we can print those photos in the photobook will be 4 x 6" or 5 x 7". However, if your camera was set to a 4 or 5 megapixel setting, we can increase the size of your images on the printed page and create a much more striking photobook. Consult your camera's instruction book if you're not sure how to set the resolution.

Having said all that though - we'll make your book look great no matter what size your images!

If you're scanning, think at least 300 DPI.

How do I send you my images?

You can either upload your images to us via this page. Alternatively, you could also send us a CD or DVD with your images (as well as physical copies of items you'd like scanned). Please get in touch with us via our Contact page for address and further details. Please note though - if you're sending us digital images, send us a copy, not the original!

Can my friends/family view or buy the photobook as well?

Yes they can.

How many copies can I order and do you offer a discount for multiple orders?

You can order as many copies as you'd like and we definitely offer a discount for multiple orders. Get in touch with us and we can provide you with an exact quote.

Refunds, returns and cancellations

What's your cancellation and return policy?

Book production begins immediately after submitting full payment for your book. Therefore cancellations cannot be made or be refunded after this time. Replacements will only be made for books suffering defects due to manufacture or delivery, provided that the book is returned to us within 7 days of receipt. Should you believe that your photobook is faulty due to manufacture or delivery, please get in touch with us immediately. PhotoBooks subject to customer-generated mistakes including spelling, typographical or grammatical mistakes, low image quality or unacceptable treatment, will not be replaced. What if I'm not happy with the final product? Your satisfaction is our primary concern and that’s why we’ll show you a digital proof of your project before it goes to print - to make sure the book is designed exactly to your requirements. Based on this proof, we’ll make whatever changes for you before final printing and delivery, this way, you know you’re getting exactly what you want. If though, once you get the book you change your mind about the way it looks, we can't do anything about that. Please see above for cancellation and return policies regarding manufacturing and delivery defects.

What's this all about?

Put simply, we create stunning photobooks of your trips, using images supplied by your clients. What's in it for me?

The final commission will depend on the number of books sold and the price of the book, but there's definitely money in it for you. Secondly, the books are great marketing tools for your company. Once they're made, our books get shown around a lot, meaning your trips get a lot of enthusiastic exposure to potential future clients. Finally, we make you a free sample, which means that at the very least, you're going to get an awesome book from one of your trips at no cost to you with no strings attached. What's to lose?

FAQs for Fundraisers

What's this all about?

In a nutshell, we make awesome yearbooks that can then be sold to members of your school, club or organisation. Your organisation/school/club raises money and your members get a fantastic photobook that they'll cherish for years.

We don't have that many photographs - can you still make us a photobook?

In general, the more photographs the better, but we can still make an awesome photobook using as little as 50 photos.

How much money can we raise?

That depends on the final price of each book, as well as how many you can sell. As a guide though, you can probably expect to make $10-$20 per book.

Couldn't we do this ourselves?

Yes, you could, but if you let us do it for you, it's much less hassle. We handle everything from collecting the photos from your members, designing the book, making changes, and handling payments and delivery. Plus, we've been doing this for a while now, so we like to think we're pretty good at it!

Can we make changes to the book that you design?

Absolutely. We don't go to print until you're 100% happy with how the book is looking
